Operating as both a deconstruction of heritage discourse and a rethinking of the politics of historic storytelling in touristic spaces.

En Mi País installation transforms the guided tour into a mechanism of critique. Through a series of floating lace-covered tables, each acting as a projection surface, I offer reconfigurations on tourist tour tales of Aruba.

In this installation, floating tables become projection surfaces for tour guide texts, familiar, rehearsed, sanitized stories. Slowly, another voice breaks through, exposing the layers underneath: violence, loss, resistance, memory.

“En Mi pais” operates as both a deconstruction of heritage discourse and an invitation to rethink the politics of storytelling in touristic spaces or imagining new ways of historic storytelling.
